Off-Road Adventures with the 2024 Ranger Raptor: A Surprising Hiccup

When we got our brand-new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor delivered, excitement was an understatement. The call of the wild was too strong to ignore, and with less than 100 miles on the odometer, we headed straight to the off-road park to truly experience what this beast could do. After all, I am known to send it!

I was interested in comparing the drivability of the Ranger Raptor to the Bronco. I knew there would be differences, but I also wanted to see which areas could be improved, identify any problem areas, and figure out if there was something I could bring to market that people would want or need.

Our joyride, however, was abruptly interrupted. As we navigated through rugged terrain, the dashboard suddenly lit up with a "Driver Control Fault" error message. It's the kind of notification that makes your heart sink, especially when your vehicle is fresh out of the showroom.

Diagnosing the Issue

Upon closer inspection, we discovered the culprit: the plug of the trailing arm sensor had become unplugged. In my opinion, the placement of this sensor is far from ideal. Situated in an exposed position, it's highly susceptible to being knocked loose or damaged during off-road adventures. This vulnerability can easily lead to the kind of malfunction we experienced, potentially cutting short an otherwise thrilling day out. And after talking to a few people, I found out that they had experienced this inconvenience too. So, we knew we had to get to work to come up with a solution to prevent this from happening again.

Introducing the Buckle Up Off-Road Trailing Arm Sensor Protector Guard and Skid Plate

Determined to prevent this issue from recurring, we quickly went to work and started designing a guard. We are proud to introduce the USA-made Buckle Up Off-Road Trailing Arm Sensor Protector Guard and Skid Plate. Here’s why it’s a game-changer:

  1. Protection: The Buckle Up Off-Road Guard acts as a shield, safeguarding the sensor from debris, rocks, and other hazards commonly encountered off-road.
  2. Security: By keeping the sensor securely in place, this skid plate reduces the risk of it becoming unplugged or damaged.
  3. Ease of Installation: This part is easy to install and reuses the factory hardware, meaning you won’t need any special tools or additional parts.
  4. Durability: Made in the USA, this protector guard is built to withstand the toughest conditions, ensuring long-lasting protection and reliability.

Our off-road experience with the new Ranger Raptor, though momentarily disrupted, taught us a valuable lesson about the importance of vehicle protection. With a bit of proactive care and the right equipment, we’re confident that our future adventures will be free from such unexpected interruptions. We are now coming up with more skid plates to further protect our Ranger Raptor too! So, if you're planning to take your Ranger Raptor off the beaten path, consider this small but significant upgrade—your off-road escapades will be all the better for it.
