Introducing the KJM Mount: The Ultimate Track Board Solution for Your Bronco
After a year and a half in the making, the KJM Track Board & Accessory Mount is finally here! If you've been following the channel for a while, you’ve probably seen something similar mounted to the back of my Bronco, holding my track boards and a few other essentials. Every time I featured it in a video or photo, people asked, “Where can I get that?” My answer was always the same: It’s homemade and not for sale—until today! This project started as a small DIY solution, but it has now grown into something much bigger than we ever expected.
The Birth of the KJM Mount
This all started when we embarked on a cross-country trek to Utah. We took our camper, which was awesome, but we needed a reliable way to carry our recovery gear—track boards, winch equipment, and tools—on the Bronco. After piecing together a makeshift mount, we realized we were onto something. The mount didn’t just solve our problem, it added a tough, aggressive look to the Bronco.
Over time, we refined the mount, adding more features to make it compatible with different setups. Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to introduce the final version of the KJM Mount, designed and Made in the USA!
Features of the KJM Mount
The KJM Mount is much more than just a track board holder. We designed it with versatility in mind. Here are some key features:
- Lighting Slots: We added slots for Chase lighting or pod lighting for overlanding trips. These slots allow you to zip-tie wires easily and keep everything neat.
- Antenna and Flag Mount: The mount has dedicated spaces for your radio antenna or whip flag, making it perfect for off-road adventures.
- Universal Track Board Compatibility: No matter what brand of track boards you prefer—whether it’s ARB or something else—the KJM Mount works with all of them. The adjustable carriage bolts ensure it can accommodate any track board with pre-drilled mounting holes.

Fitment: For those with bigger tires—don’t worry. We’ve tested this mount with 37-inch tires, and it fits perfectly.
How to Install the KJM Mount
Before we get into the installation, it’s important to note that this mount is currently only compatible with our Buckle Up Off-Road Braptor Tail Gate Reinforcement. That means you’ll need our reinforcement to attach the KJM Mount to your Bronco. But don’t worry—we are working on a version that will mount directly to the tailgate without reinforcement. Stay tuned for updates!
Here’s a quick breakdown of the installation process:
- Pre-Installation: If you're planning to mount pod lighting or antennas, it’s best to install those first. You can run the wiring and get everything set up before attaching the track boards.
- Carriage Bolt Installation: Start by installing the carriage bolts loosely to allow for adjustment when mounting the track boards later.
- Mount to Reinforcement: Align the mount with the center holes of the reinforcement and attach using the provided bolts.
- Track Board Mounting: Once your other accessories are installed, adjust the carriage bolts to match your track boards and tighten everything down.
A Few Things to Keep in Mind
If you own a Bronco Raptor, you’ll need to make a small adjustment to fit the KJM Mount. Although this is not made specifically for the Bronco Raptor, this mount can work with the Bronco Raptor's OEM reinforcement, but it requires different mounting hardware, which is not included (Bolt Pattern is M6x1.00).
Please note that if you're using it with a Bronco Raptor, we strongly recommend adding a strut stop to your tailgate. The Bronco Raptor's tail lights extend farther out from the vehicle, and fully opening the tailgate could cause it to hit the taillights. We're currently developing a mount specifically designed for the Bronco Raptor to address this issue. In the meantime, this mount will work, but please use caution when opening the tailgate. For regular Broncos, this isn’t an issue, but always double-check the clearance.
The Final Product
Once everything is installed, the KJM Mount gives your Bronco a rugged, functional look. Whether you’re using it to hold track boards, antennas, or extra lighting, this mount is ready for any adventure you throw at it. Plus, it frees up your spare tire from having to hold Chase lighting or other accessories—so if you ever need that spare, you don’t have to mess with wiring!
